Courses Outline
For all Courses, Students will be expected to attend theory lectures. Regular testing (theory and practical) will take place before students can progress to the next level. This will be at the discretion of the Principal Instructor, Mr. Alex Ang.
COURSE A
BASIC TO INTERMEDIATE PET STYLING
The focus of this course is on assisting students to become comfortable with pets, equipment and techniques. The fundamentals of this course are based on basic pet grooming, maintenance and care of tools, safety and handling of dogs. This will involve basic clipper work and simple scissoring skills. Students who complete this course will be equipped to work as an assistant groomer.
COURSE B
INTERMEDIATE TO PROFESSIONAL PET STYLING
The focus of this course is to introduce students to pattern styling as well as further enhancing their scissoring skills, speed and efficiency in the grooming environment. Students will learn basic pattern styling for popular breeds and receive a more thorough understanding with regards the theory aspects of grooming. Students who complete this course will be equipped to work as a Professional Pet Stylist in a grooming salon or open their own establishment.
COURSE C
PROFESSIONAL TO ADVANCED PET STYLING
The focus of this course is on professional pet stylists who want to learn the more specialized grooming techniques involved in hand stripping coats and grooming dogs for the specialist show ring. This course is designed to accelerate a student’s professional skills.
COURSE D
BASIC TO PROFESSIONAL PET STYLING
This course is a combination of Course A and Course B. Students who chose this course will be shown from the very beginning the skills involved in becoming a creative pet stylist.

THEORY COMPONENT
The Theory component is compulsory. Only certain components will be covered in certain courses. The purpose of the theory course is to ensure that essential background knowledge is thoroughly understood.
